Natalie Oguara

I have been an educator for thirty-plus years, and one of my greatest joys is to see the “Ah Ha” moments on a child’s face. I am passionate about teaching and ensuring that each student is achieving to their highest potential. “Education with Culture” has been my quest as an educator of diverse students. I strive on a daily basis to teach towards every student's need for acceptance, inclusion, and voice in the classroom.

I began my teaching career at independent African schools, and spent over twenty years teaching in DC Public and Public Charter Schools. Currently, I am a third grade language arts teacher in the Spanish Immersion program at Laurel Ridge ES in Fairfax, VA. My daily schedule consists of teaching two classes of reading, writing and word study. In addition to teaching full time, I provide phonics tutoring for bilingual students, who are struggling with English.

Stayed tuned for more exciting news and products in the near future.

"In creating the illustrations and design layout for Musical Journeys: Celia Cruz to Aymee Nuviola, Cuban Music in the Americas, my goal was to create fun and engaging character designs and shapes. I wanted to create images that followed the theme of the book as well as reflect who Celia and Aymee are known for."
